Why Las Vegas?

Las Vegas, what a wonderful place to live!

18 years ago I did not think I would entertain such a thought.   Why did I end up in "sin city?"   I  ate my first Vegas breakfast at a casino buffet, aware that the same man that was sitting at the same slot machine at the end of the first row was there the night before at 7pm.  That was different.

As the years went by, I started to appreciate the mystical ever-changing beauty of the mountains that surround our valley.  A superb 6 years at UNLV introduced me to great teachers and fellow Las Vegans.  My health product business was an incredible networking opportunity, I have met so many fascinating, diverse, intelligent and warm-hearted people.

While considering Vegas, make sure you take the time to enjoy the natural beauty that is right outside our city.  Red Rock Canyon, Mt. Charleston, Lake Mead and the Valley of Fire are places nature lovers can be found on weekends.   Children just love the snow play areas on Mt. Charleston.  The amazing Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks are only 3 and 4 1/2 hours from Vegas!  (Visit the Bit & Spur in Springdale, UT, just outside of Zion for gourmet Mexican food, jazz music and a view you will never forget)

Besides having an international airport of it's own, Las Vegas is also in a strategic point for visiting Flagstaff, Phoenix and other areas of Arizona; many California destinations are within a 5 hour drive.  And remember, visiting California from Vegas on a weekend, you are going with a good traffic pattern, the crowds come into Vegas Friday and Saturday, and leave Sunday.  When you live in Vegas you get to wave "Thanks for helping our economy!" to the visitors waiting in heavy traffic.

Other gems include outlying areas such as Pahrump and Sandy Valley for those who enjoy a smaller town.  I am sure I could find volumes to say about  Henderson and our quaint Boulder City with their street fairs and small town atmosphere, but I will leave that for you to explore!

IT'S GREAT TO BE HERE!  Thanks Las Vegas  :)

Yes, and it is a dry heat...most of the time.  Make sure you have plenty of water with you!
