For many reasons, Las Vegas continues to rank as the fastest growing metropolitan area in the United States, with an average 6,000 new residents arriving monthly. Maybe Las Vegas' growth has to do with the area's low unemployment rate; for over a decade, Las Vegas has maintained the highest employment growth in the United States. Perhaps Nevada's friendly tax structure -- with no personal income tax and a favorable entrepreneurial climate -- draws new residents at a record pace. Or maybe it's the fact that, once you step away from the casinos and the neon, Las Vegas is a city much like many others around the country, with quality schools and institutions of higher learning, houses of worship, libraries, fine restaurants and enriching cultural events.
